Let's break it down

How it works

Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin and an enzyme cofactor, that helps turn the nutrients from the food you eat into the energy you need. In the gastrointestinal tract, enzymes break down biotin. The biotin is then absorbed in the small intestine and stored in the liver.

Dietary Boost

There are a number of foods that contain biotin, including organ meats, eggs, fish, meat, seeds, nuts and some vegetables. The biotin content varies largely between foods and seasons and food processing techniques can reduce the vitamin content. Similar to other B vitamins cooking and processing methods can destroy biotin.
